Dems, GOP Announce Nov. Slates The slate of town council and board of education candidates endorsed by local Democrats is comprised entirely of incumbents. Not so their Republican opponents, whose roster of endorsed candidates includes some new names, according to documents filed with the town clerk's office. Democrats last month endorsed incumbents Mayor Donald Trinks, Deputy Mayor Alan Simon, William Herzfeld, Randy McKenney and Matthew Marci for additional two-year council terms. Board of education members Milo W. Peck, Jr., Doreen E. Richardson, Christopher Watts, Lucille Browne and Christopher McAuliffe were also endorsed for re-election. On the Republican side, council incumbents Ronald Eleveld and Donald A. Jepsen were endorsed last month along with newcomers Charles DeVito III and Aaron Thomas Jubrey. The fifth endorsed candidate, Michael McDonald, will seek to return to the council after an absence. Board incumbents Patricia M. DiGiore, Howard Jubrey, Paul J. Panos and Ana Cristina Santos received party backing, along with newcomer David Patrice Gay. Democrats currently hold a 5-4 majority on the board and council. The municipal election will be held Nov. 3.
