Windsor Firefighter Wins Two Top Honors
PAUL ESSENFELD TopResponder

Members of the Hayden Station Fire Company, part of the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, held their Annual Awards Ceremony at the Union Street Tavern Saturday night, January 17th.

Deputy Chief Jim Eatherton (above left) described the significance of the Top Responder Award representing service to the fire department and to the people of Windsor.

This year's winner, Firefighter Louis Roy (above right), also was voted Firefighter of the Year for 2008, a coveted recognition of service by his peers.

To emphasize the extent of Mr. Roy's achievement as Top Responder, Chief Eatherton, explained that the difference between Number Two Responder and Number Three Responder was just one response, while the difference between Number One and Number Two was a hundred! Number Two Responder was Anthony Williams below right).
